Important Advice for Patients

Priority is given to patients with appointments. This practice endeavours to accommodate patients with urgent problems where possible. Urgent problems are determined by triage, a system used by most hospital emergency departments.

Being located in such a multicultural area, we can arrange the services of an external interpreter. If you or a member of your family require a doctor who speaks a certain language please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment.

Our practice offers after hours care in partnership with DoctorDoctor, providing access to GPs and on call home visiting doctors to patients of Langton Medical Centre.  When our practice is closed you can call 13 26 60, visit the website doctordoctor.com.au, or alternatively you can call our practice and be transferred automatically.

Langton Medical Centre has maintained accreditation with Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL). Accreditation is the longest established and most widely known process for the external evaluation of healthcare services. The process is implemented to ensure the delivery of safe and high quality health care. Accreditation recognises the achievement by a health care provider to meet the requirements of established standards. AGPAL is proud to recognise this practice team’s ongoing commitment to patient safety and quality standards within general practice.

This practice is bound by the Commonwealth Privacy Act – Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 and also complies with the Victorian Health Records Act 2001 and related 10 National (NPPs) and 11 Health (HPPs) Privacy Principles. All patient information is considered private and confidential and this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

If you have any concerns about any aspect of the service we have provided we ask that you raise it with the practice manager.  All matters are treated in the strictest confidentiality.  If you are not satisfied with the practice’s response you can take your complaint directly to Health Services Commission, which can be contacted on 1800 136 066 or hsc@dhs.vic.gov.au.
